Securing Products and Packaging During Manufacturing
Many of the same controls and processes described above for suppliers apply to manufacturer's and contract manufacturing operations as well. Manufacturers and brand owners should carefully control intellectual property such as drawings， specifications， dies， molds，print plates，etc. Documented processes should be in place that define the management，storage，use and disposal of these items and documented training should be required for all relevant employees.
Manufacturers should establish documented processes and controls for securing finished products. Scrap and rejected materials should be secured，controlled，reconciled， documented and destroyed in a verifiable manner within the facility or rendered unusable before being sent for destruction by another party. If sent to another party for destruction without being rendered unusable，destruction should be physically verified and documented.
If production is performed by a contract manufacturer，the same contractual safe guards and documented processfor management of intellectual property and waste materials that were described above for printers and component suppliers should be enacted for the contract manufacturer.
